Terms & acceptable use

License terms for Banlys MFD data access. By requesting or using a release package, you agree to these conditions.

What you get

Versioned research packages: multi-sensor phone field readings, coarse location (~100 m), calibration and quality labels, instrument metadata. Not a live randomness API. Not lab-grade SI instruments.

We allow

  • Scientific research, teaching, and internal evaluation
  • Publishing results (papers, talks) with citation
  • Internal models and notebooks under your seat
  • Combining with other lawful datasets (you own that risk)

We do not allow

  • Re-identifying people, households, or contributors
  • Reselling, mirroring, or publicly dumping the raw corpus
  • Building a competing data service from MFD packages
  • Building randomness / entropy-as-a-service / key-generation products from MFD (including entropy summary fields)
  • Medical, clinical, emergency, or critical-infrastructure control use
  • Claiming Banlys endorses medical, safety, or paranormal conclusions
  • Sharing download credentials or seat access outside the license
  • Scraping the portal beyond authorized seat use

Institutional seats

If your university or company holds the seat, the organization is responsible for everyone who uses the data under that seat — faculty, staff, students, contractors, and interns included. “That was our intern” is not a defense.

Derived works

Publish numbers and methods — not the corpus. Don’t ship Banlys raw packages inside your product or public repo.

Quality

Consumer devices, uneven coverage, device-dependent units, flat/degenerate sessions expected. Data provided as is. Entropy fields are science observables, not certified key material.

Access control

Seats are granted. Banlys may deny, suspend, or revoke access. Download links may expire. Breach of hard bans can mean immediate termination and deletion of raw packages.
